many ppl ask, why do we need to do good deeds and be a good person if all we need to do is believe in Jesus' death and resurrection, to be forgiven and saved by God? Doesn't it say in the Bible that God will love us anyway, even if we sin?
we do good deeds to show that we love God, not to be loved by God. doing good deeds does please God, but he'll still love us, no matter what. (:
for example, you obey and listen to your parents (i hope) most of the time, to show that you love and respect them, not to be loved by them, as most parents will still love their children no matter what happens.
another commonly asked question is: sin cant be that bad, right? it's so tempting and seems so promising and self fulfilling...
sin does seem promising and tempting, but there are consequences after every act of sin. just like after every lie you tell, there's that twinge of guilt inside you. i have these occasional cravings for KFC. yes, i'm weird xD i'm pretty sure you all know the feeling of all that oil and grease inside you after you've finished a stomach filling meal from kfc or maccas, or any other fast food store. after that meal, i end up telling myself, not to eat this stuff again, yet a few weeks later, i go back to the same old bad habits D; just like sin, it's a never ending cycle. it always seems so promising and fulfilling but afterwards, we realise that we should've never done it in the first place. but we keep making the same mistakes over and over again. but we're all human, so we all sin. the only way we can save ourselves, is to have faith in God and trust Him (:
i hope that helped? :D
if you have any questions about it, ask me? (:
